Steering Committee Roll

  1. Ensure that overall process is generally on course and on schedule.
  2. Map development, action plans, participation levels, etc.
  3. Look for and ensure connection between Destinations - Strategies - Prototypes.
Do offered prototypes really contribute and move college to test and try new approaches in critical areas?
  4. Serve as eyes and ears --- represent the broader College community.
Are issues being considered and is the College community involved and respected in the process?
  5. Bring attention, highlight and help champion effective and important prototypes ... and prototypers.
Innovation requires support, encouragement and endorsement to move from a good idea to broader application and use.
  6. Defend, explain, engage others and support the process.
Ask tough questions in Steering Committee meetings and answer others in different settings.  Overcoming  cynicism, skepticism, building energy and enthusiasm requires leadership.  Steering Committee must model the behavior it seeks in others or it has little value in the long run.  One of the most important ways is to be a dedicated prototyper and to have an outstanding Action Mapping.
